Yesterday's procedure was successful. Sukij has been able to eat soft foods like ice cream and drink small amounts of liquids (and keep them down). He remains in fairly good spirits and is smiling but he's extremely tired. He is currently resting and building up his strength. According to the doctors, he is cleared to travel home based upon his own assessment of how he's feeling.
Thanks to those who have left their "Life Lessons" in the comments section. Please keep them coming!

Some words of wisdom Sukij and I discussed:
- Write your ideas down on paper so you can reference them. Goals are more acheivable this way.
- Actively listen. (provide feedback during conversations so parties know you have been listening and understand concepts)
- Be your own CEO.
- I remember losing an umbrella on campus. I was very upset because it was an umbrella that Totes had discontinued making. I told Sukij that I searched the campus high and low for this umbrella. He told me that I should not worry about it; that I should always keep in mind that materialistic things do not last forever, things get lost, things break.
- When canoeing, do the "J" stroke. This stroke will help you paddle a canoe in a straight line.
- Think outside the box and be creative.

Some of life’s lessons, including the Golden Rule, are commonly forgotten at the most inopportune times. See if you can make a game out of it. The next time a mistake is made, pettiness creeps into the room, or someone cuts you off in traffic, catch yourself and smile and you get one point. Like Joel said, it’s the big picture that’s important—your family, friends, and passions.
Sukij, it’s been almost nine years since the Thailand trip with Joel, Mike, and Chrissy. You and your family introduced us to Rambutans and Durians, Pad Thai and “Mai pen rai.” The most important thing I got out of that trip was a love for exploring different cultures. That ultimately influenced me to join the Peace Corps, which was one of the best experiences of my life. Keep up the good work. I’ll stay posted,

Hi Sukij, Thank you for all the time you spent with me, both on the phone, and in person. You helped build my confidence in myself and my business, showing me what I'm truly worth. I would say some the life lessons I learned from you is:
(a) Don't sell yourself short. (b) Don't be afraid to ask what you deserve.
(c) Force Multiply. Think big and try to scale yourself.
