In late 1999 - 2000, a random group of travelers went to Thailand with Sukij. One of the travelers, Matt Kauppi took some photos and sent them along to share on the blog. For all of us, this was our first trip to Asia. Sukij and his family were such great ambassadors the whole time. The photos were taken in the southernmost islands off the west coast of Thailand. Even Sukij had some tough times interpreting their dialect, making this a real adventure! We stayed in small huts, ate fresh fruit, and went snorkeling each day at remote spots. It was an experience that has really impacted our perspectives on the world. Two of the travelers, Matt & Mike went into the Peace Corp after the trip - I am pretty sure that the journey was a formative one that supported that choice.
