Message from Linda Hosey for Sukij

THE SCULPTOR
-Author Unknown

I took a piece of plastic clay,
And idly fashioned it one day.
And as my fingers pressed it still,
It moved and yielded to my will.

I came again when days were passed,
That bit of clay was hard at last.
The form I gave it, still it bore,
And I could change it never more.

Then I took a piece of living clay,
And gently formed it day by day.
And molded with my power and art,
A young child’s soft and yielding heart.

I came again when years were gone,
It was a man I looked upon.
He still that early impress bore,
And I could change it nevermore.

Sukij,

This is one of my favorite poems and as I read it I think of you. I think of you as a child being, “formed… day by day”, by your parents who fashioned you into the wonderful young man that I first met. I think of your journey past and present as you touch the lives of everyone you meet in such a way that they each carry an imprint in their heart, mind and soul that you put there. In our work, in our play, you challenge each one of us to be our best, live to the fullest and at the same time, without either of us knowing, you continue to “impress” …in the most challenging time in your life, you continue to form us. How can we ever thank you?

“Sukij II”…? Something to which I still aspire…

Till next time,
With Love,
linda
